Comprehensive Executive Function Inventory™ Adult (CEFI Adult™)

Executive function impacts our ability to successfully navigate day-to-day life. The multi-rater CEFI Adult provides a comprehensive, strength-based way of assessing these skills by highlighting areas where a person may have stronger abilities. This unique approach to identifying areas of both strengths and weaknesses ensures support is being provided where it is needed most. This allows professionals to more effectively guide diagnosis, intervention, treatment planning, and accurately evaluate the success of a treatment programme over time. 

In addition to a Full-Scale score, the CEFI Adult has nine scales that focus on different areas of executive function. Scale level scores assist in determining how an individual compares to the general US population and whether or not certain scale scores significantly differ from their own personal average score.

 ASSESSMENT SCALES

 The CEFI utilises nine scales to pinpoint targets for intervention:

• Attention - how well an adult can avoid distractions, concentrate on tasks, and sustain attention

• Emotion Regulation – reflects an adult’s control and management of emotions

• Flexibility - how well an adult can adapt to circumstances, including problem-solving ability

• Inhibitory Control - indicates an adult’s control over behaviour or impulses

• Initiation - describes an adult’s ability to begin tasks or projects without being prompted

• Organisation - describes how well an adult manages personal effects, work, or multiple tasks

• Planning - reflects how well an adult develops and implements strategies to accomplish tasks

• Self-Monitoring - measures an adult's self-evaluation of their performance or behaviour

• Working Memory – reflects how well an adult can keep information in mind that is important for knowing what to do and how to do it, including remembering important things, instructions, and steps

AREAS OF APPLICATION

The CEFI Adult is intended for use by psychologists to:

• Aid in diagnosis and plan interventions

• Evaluate the success of treatment programmes

• Use in a variety of research contexts

REPORT OPTIONS

• Interpretive Report: provides detailed results from one administration.

• Progress Monitoring and Treatment Effectiveness Report: provides an evaluation of score changes over time by combining results from the same rater for up to four administrations.

• Comparative Report: provides analysis of scores from two to five different raters.
